After two short weeks, our students successfully completed their first full week of school. The first ten days of school brought an opportunity for students to build their classroom communities, establish routines, and learn the school procedures. With these important routines and communities established, we will begin our deeper work with curriculum and instruction. We look forward to sharing our work to date at our upcoming Open Houses!

A rite of passage for our fifth graders is having increased responsibilities and jobs. This week, our fifth graders helped welcome all students and teachers by taking over the microphone for the morning announcements. Over the course of the next several weeks our fifth graders will have the opportunity to sign up for a number of different Potter Road jobs.

Grades 3-5 Open House: September 24th 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Welcome Back Picnic Rain Date: September 26th 6:00-7:30 p.m.

On September 17th and 24th, we invite our Potter Road families to attend Open House. Open House provides a wonderful opportunity for your child to share their learning spaces, meet the teachers your child works with, and learn more about Potter Road.

All students will receive a stamp book when they arrive for Open House. Students are encouraged to visit all the areas on their passports. Once their passport is filled up, they can return to the front of the building where they can trade in for a prize.

A reminder that all students will have their school picture taken on Wednesday, September 18th. All students received picture day order forms. These order forms should be brought back by September 18th where they will be given to the photographers.
